BAE Nabs $40.5M Contract to Design Military Vehicle

Central Penn Business Journal
By: Paula Holzman

BAE Systems has netted a $40.5 million, 27-month contract to become one of three competing teams designing a vehicle the U.S. military hopes will be the follow-up for the Humvee.

The London-based defense contractor will partner with Illinois-based Navistar Defense and Indiana-based Arvin Meritor for project, officially a part of the military's Joint Light Tactical Vehicle (JLTV) program.

A portion of the work will occur at BAE's West Manchester Township plant, but it's too early to tell what kind of effect the project might have on the York County facility, said Kelly Golden, a BAE spokeswoman.
