Every Year U.S. Army Use 1 Billion Gallons of Fuel

The big number of soldiers that use many equipment and infrastructure needs a lot of fuels. According to the 2011 Army fact sheet, they estimate that every soldier in the U.S. Army uses more than 22 gallons per day. Those numbers are more than what soldier use during World War II.

The number of fuel that the military used is also increasing significantly according to the 2008 Army report. They said that the U.S. military purchased around 880 million gallons of fuel in that year. And, that amount of fuel is only used for mobility operations.

Today, the U.S. Department of Defense tries to cut down the usage of the fuel, especially fossil fuel. They said that using fossil fuel and depend on their service too much to this fuel will only increase the risk of a logistical problem. So, we can expect something good and better alternative for it.
